This 18x25x1 air filter’s MERV 13 filter efficiency rating is optimized for certification in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System in new and existing buildings, while also offering a cost-effective upgrade from lower efficiency pleated filters for a variety of commercial and industrial applications. Useful in buildings where excellent air quality is required, this premium air filter is great for HVAC systems in commercial properties, manufacturing facilities, laboratories, hospitals and schools. It can also be used in compatible residential home HVAC systems. With a MERV 13 filtration rating, this filter protects from pollen, dirt, dust, pet dander and virus carriers, smoke, smog, lead dust, oil smoke and micro allergens. The MERV 13 air filter carries an efficiency rating in accordance with ASHRAE Test Standard 52.2. Engineered and designed for high strength and rigidity, these filters are independent quality control tested, with heavy duty moisture resistant frame. Available in several standard face sizes, all media used in the manufacture of these filters are made of 100% synthetic fibers that are electrostatically charged. Thermally bonded, the MR-13 air filter is manufactured with extended-surface pleated-media type, with an engineered gradient structure. To maintain continuity of the radial pleats, an expanded metal reinforcement is laminated to the air-exit side of the filter by a thermo-setting adhesive. The expanded metal is galvanized in the manufactured to resist rust and corrosion. Pleated in a tapered radial configuration, the pleated cartridge shall be bonded to the peripheral interior of the outer frame. For an encasing frame, a heavy-duty moisture-resistant beverage board is utilized for an encasing frame. The frame sis internally laminated to the pleated cartridge apexes. This design and manufacturing process results in high performing, high quality air filters that can withstand temperatures up to 180°F. Pets, poor air quality, respiratory issues and a number of other factors can affect the rate at which filters should be changed. While it is generally recommended that these filters be replaced at least every 90 days, it is important to also consider all of these other factors.
